Meet Brian Hickey: NextGen Development Consultant

Brian Hickey is an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst who has worked in the medical practice industry for many years. He holds a Master of Science degree focused on Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Brian has always been passionate about working in the healthcare industry, which was inspired by his work at various healthcare organizations, where he discovered his interest in the human body.

Before joining TempDev, Brian Hickey worked in IT at a physician-owned, multi-specialty outpatient practice in Boulder, Colorado, where he was responsible for everything from NextGen development and troubleshooting to accidental database administration for over a decade. Brian joined TempDev as a NextGen Development Consultant, where he is responsible for solving problems with simple and elegant solutions. His critical thinking, logic, and interpersonal skills have contributed to his success, and he enjoys collaborating with others.

Brian Hickey recently got married in the summer of 2023 to a wonderful woman, and he has two sweet, energetic, and loving boys from a previous marriage. His hobbies include rowing, running, watching prestige TV and movies, and keeping up with the Colorado Buffaloes. No one at TempDev will even challenge him to a rowing match. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, cool walks in the morning with coffee in hand, and occasionally eating tacos paired with margaritas. All in moderation as Brian is keen on keeping in shape, especially with his upcoming summer honeymoon. He also operates under the motto: Eat to move; move to eat.

Brian's goals for 2023 are to go on his honeymoon, play golf, and save more money for his boys' college funds. He plans to organize his garage to fit two cars and have dedicated date nights with his new wife.

His advice to others is to always keep their word, prioritize their retirement, and wear sunscreen. He believes in leaving the world a better place than he found it and strives to raise his children with values of kindness, diversity, and equality.
